Did you know that tortoises can feel when their shells are being touched? Check out the amazing footage from @animalwondersmontana of one of their rescue tortoises named Titus getting some back scratches!

One thing to notice about Titus’ shell is that it was deformed by improper care received before he was rescued by the team at Animal Wonders Montana. The most obvious deformation in this video is the pyramiding that has occurred on top of his shell. In the wild, healthy tortoises have shells that are much smoother than Titus’s shell! Fortunately the team at Animal Wonders Montana are providing him with the best care to ensure that he has the greatest possible quality of life!
